Kickstart Internship: Junior Developer

About the role:
This placement would involve joining the Delivery Team for DigiBlu’s Automated Recruitment Advisor (ARA) product. ARA uses Machine Learning to remove bias from the recruitment process, ensuring each applicant has equality of opportunity throughout the hiring process. ARA is an early stage start-up within DigiBlu, as such the role is very fast moving and dynamic. You could be testing new software releases, building User Interface (UI) features, defining product requirements, managing the flow of work for the data team, managing our agile sprints, or supporting the installation of the product into a client environment. Because ARA is a start-up within DigiBlu, there is lots of flexibility for you to make the role your own and the role will likely evolve over time to allow you to pursue the areas that interest you the most, as you gain more experience.
This role is semi-technical, and some coding knowledge / experience is desirable, but not essential. As an example, you could have completed several coding courses on Udemy or Code Academy and wish to learn more. Our technology stack is extremely current and used by some of the world’s most popular start-ups, so if you want exposure to Python, React, Power Automate, Amazon Web Services or Antworks apply to this role. If you are interested, we can also provide training on relevant coding languages over the duration of the placement and provide coding mentorship.
We are a tech start-up, having been founded in South Africa then expanding into the UK in 2019, and are growing quickly. We’ve doubled the size of our team since the first lockdown. We help our clients enter the Fourth Industrial Revolution, by providing automation services, either as consultants or by developing and selling automated products / software on an “as a service” basis.
As ARA is an early stage start-up you will need to accept some uncertainty and sometimes a lack of structure. In return, you will receive flexibility, actual responsibility and exposure to a high-growth tech start-up and will be able to make a difference to a project that is designed to make the world of work fairer. We will also use our experienced team to provide as much valuable mentoring support as we can.
Who we're looking for:
You've had some exposure to one or more coding languages, a technical education and the ability to thrive in a flexible, fast-paced, high responsibility environment. You're logically minded and detail focused.
To be eligible for this role, you must be aged 18-24 and be on Universal Credit. You must be referred to us by your job coach. So make sure you ask them about us!
